Overview
Beat Tap is an on-device video and beat editing app. It does not require an account, subscription, login, or internet connection to create edits. We do not sell your data or include third-party advertising, tracking, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs.
Information we do not collect
Beat Tap does not ask for or collect your name, phone number, address, contacts, location, payment information, health information, or advertising identifier. It does not upload editing projects, beat timing, crops, exports, face data, or thumbnails for cloud editing or cloud project storage.
No cookies, ads, or cloud editing
The app does not use cookies, web tracking pixels, personalized ads, ad identifiers, YouTube APIs, or third-party analytics. Editing, waveform generation, beat timing, thumbnail generation, crop work, project saving, and export preparation happen on your device.
Photo Library and local media
Beat Tap requests Photo Library access so you can browse and import selected media, allow iOS to retrieve iCloud-backed originals when needed, and save finished exports to Photos. Beat Tap does not request microphone, camera, contacts, or location access.
You can change Photo Library permission at any time in iOS Settings. Removing access may prevent importing, restoring projects, loading thumbnails, retrieving iCloud originals, or saving exports until access is restored.
Media and saved projects
Apple frameworks process your chosen media locally. Beat Tap may create local working copies, thumbnails, waveform samples, beat timing, crop settings, clip timing, exports, and saved-project files.
Saved projects can include a project name, thumbnail, beat timings, trim points, selected Photo Library asset identifiers, clip timing, crop and rotation settings, volume settings, timeline resolution and frame-rate information, and local files needed to restore the edit.
Optional Shared Videos
When a sender creates a sharing code, Beat Tap sends the public Dropbox folder link and chosen collection name to the Beat Tap share service. The service temporarily stores a manifest containing the code, collection and file names, file sizes, Dropbox paths or identifiers, timestamps, expiry, and revocation information. It does not store copies of the video files.
A recipient can use the code without a Beat Tap or Dropbox account. The service retrieves each requested file from Dropbox and streams its bytes to the recipient without intentionally retaining the video. Downloaded videos are stored locally for offline editing.
The service uses Hostinger and Dropbox. These providers may process IP addresses, request times, security logs, and transfer data under their privacy terms. Beat Tap keeps limited salted rate-limit records to prevent abuse. Anyone with a valid, unexpired code can access its collection, so share codes only with people you trust.
Beat Files, sharing, and exports
Videos, audio-only exports, and Beat Tap Beat Files are created locally. If you share them through AirDrop, Messages, Mail, Files, Dropbox, or another app, the destination service handles the file under its own privacy policy. Imported .beatsong files are read locally to populate audio and beat timing.
Diagnostics and support
Apple diagnostics
Apple may provide developers with App Store Connect, TestFlight, or system diagnostic information when users choose to share diagnostics with Apple or use TestFlight. This can include crash reports, performance diagnostics, installation information, and aggregated app analytics. We use it only to understand bugs, crashes, performance, and product quality.
Support email
If you email support, we receive the email address you use and any information you choose to include. Support messages are used only to respond and improve Beat Tap. Avoid sending sensitive personal information unless necessary.
Retention, deletion, and choices
Local app data remains on your device until you remove it, clear the project, delete the app, or iOS removes temporary or cached data. Files already exported or shared outside Beat Tap remain wherever you saved or sent them.
Use Settings → Delete All Local Data to remove saved projects, the current edit, imported working copies, downloaded Shared Videos, beats, thumbnails, preferences, caches, and temporary files after two confirmations. This does not delete original Photo Library media, videos in a sender's Dropbox folder, completed exports saved to Photos, or files previously shared outside Beat Tap.
See the complete data-deletion instructions.
Security and children
Beat Tap uses the normal iOS app sandbox and Apple system frameworks. No storage or sharing method can be guaranteed to be completely secure or free from data loss, so keep backups of important media and exports.
Beat Tap is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. Children should use the app with permission and guidance from a parent or guardian.
Updates and contact
If Beat Tap's data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures will be updated.
